Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a public statement.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.

This event does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.

In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to turn back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
