FC Barcelona to Host First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
