Brian Eno Calls On Support to Send Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All took part in the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a group of music creators. The track blends a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
